This collection is a tribute to the creative scene of Utrecht. The city has more to offer than is seen. For this reason, Pinkorangeclub has created a collection in collaboration with three artists from Utrecht named Bird Guy, Philip Lindeman and Ravian Derrière.
The alter ego of artist Alois van Bruchem is indispensable in the city. You can see him everywhere where he often distributes post-its with his personal signature: birds. In this way, Pinkorangeclub came into contact with Bird Guy. He is a familiar face at the Utrecht screen printing company Kapitaal and is no better to describe than an enthusiastic optimist. With a playful working method he prolongs his emotions at the moment of creation. Sometimes simple, sometimes complex, but always Bird Guy.
In the illustrated world of Philip Lindeman you end up in a fictional reality. Situations, figures and themes are recognizable, but always include a certain tragedy, mysticism and humor taken from life. Where Philip’s creative process within his free work arises from ‘thinking by doing’, the creative process within his commissioned work is the exact opposite. Within assignments he likes to be surprised and it is precisely the frameworks and restrictions that lead him to solutions and extensions of his visual world. The variation between these ways of working keeps his enthusiasm high and that makes Philip an ambitious and energetic illustrator.
From an early age, friends of Ravian van Beele call him “van bil”, roughly translated as “buttocks”. This has extended into his art and therefore his alias Ravian Derriere, French for the bottom. Ravian is rather impulsive when it comes to his artworks and does exactly what comes to mind. This has made him what he is today. Without becoming ordinary in his art, he always tries to be on the edge with humor and make people laugh. It is not a difficult art and it must be a pleasure to look at.
From the island Vlieland in 2016, Pinkorangeclub started as a self-funded project collaborating with artists to create exclusive fashion. This collaboration focuses on creative people in Utrecht, The Netherlands. This collection is shot by photographer Luuk van Zon on models and art school students Lotte Zuidema and Elliot Mcdonald. Styled by fashion stylists Ellen Bloo and Angela Segard. All creative minds from the city of Utrecht.
For the release of the clothing collection, Pinkorangeclub organized an event in The Revenge on April 18.
